This past Sunday at the end of worship, Worship Pastor Kathryn Vera loved Jesus out loud in her being “Real” moment. Since that time, I’ve thought of four different things of great importance. Two being verses of scripture, and two being statements I made during my series last fall called, “Be Real,” here at North Elevation Church in Mansfield.

1) Psalm 22:22 (NLT) 22 I will proclaim your name to my brothers and sisters. I will praise you among your assembled people.

2) Psalm 66:16 (NLT) 16 Come and listen, all you who fear God, and I will tell you what he did for me.

3) “To ‘Be Real’ is to be utterly honest and dependent on Jesus. God is not partial to the giants of faith. God is moved by your struggles and your honesty of ‘I believe, but help my unbelief.’ Being Real unleashes God’s Love. Just a humble, honest cry of being Real to the only One who has the power to change everything.”

Kathryn began tearfully sharing a moment of Being Real concerning the deep love of God, and exposing a very special moment with her son to us during community worship at church. A moment where He reached down and touched her heart in a manner that only our amazing God could have done. A moment that caused me to think of something Jesus said in Luke 14:25-27 (NLT). Something I believe He said for the purpose of staggering the crowd, to wake them up from a half-baked commitment.

God was ministering in a very deep way to all of us through Kathryn’s honest testimony while at church. However, I firmly believe He was also trying to wake us up, especially if we were in a half-baked commitment to Him.

4) Another statement I made in my “Be Real” series was this: “Commitment is not found in the location of your body, but instead in the position of your heart. If your Heart is Right, your body will be where it’s supposed to be.” Let us all be where we are supposed to be!

Let’s Be Real Together!
